Im Rahmen des Partnerschaftsprojekts Career Orientation and Job Placement (CoJoP) mit SOS Children´s Villages Nigeria führt das Bildungswerk mehrere Angebote zur Bekämpfung der Jugendarbeitslosigkeit im einwohnerstärksten afrikanischen Land Nigeria durch.
Eine wichtige Säule unserer Zusammenarbeit ist die Verbesserung der Berufsorientierung im Land.
Hierfür fand im April 2022 eine Pilotveranstaltung unseres Online-Angebots Implementation of Career Guidance and Vocational Orientation (ICAVO) statt.
Das Ziel von ICAVO ist es,
- Lehrer, Sozialarbeiter, ehrenamtliche Aktivisten und andere geeignete Personen zu befähigen, Berufsorientierung an Personen vor ihrem Erstberuf, Berufswechsler/Umschüler, z.B. Sekundarschüler und ihr Umfeld, z.B. ihre Familien und Sportvereine, zu bringen.
- Stakeholder dabei zu unterstützen ein Berufsorientierungsangebot für ihren lokalen Kontext zu entwickeln.
Auf Grundlage des Feedbacks der Teilnehmenden aus den nigerianischen Bundesstaaten Abuja, Edo, Ogun und Lagos wird ICAVO nun gemeinsam weiter verbessert.
CoJoP wird von der Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ GmbH unterstützt, welche vom Bundesministerium für Entwicklung und wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit (BMZ) beauftragt wurde. Das Vorhaben ist Teil des GIZ-Projekts Förderung bedarfsgerechter beruflicher Qualifizierung und Jugendbeschäftigung in Nigeria.
Successful pilot project of an online seminar for vocational orientation in cooperation with the SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria
Within the framework of the partnership project “Career Orientation and Job Placement (CoJoP)” with SOS Children's Villages Nigeria, the Bildungswerk der Baden-Würtembergischen Wirtschaft (Biwe) implements several activities to combat youth unemployment in Nigeria, the most populated country in Africa.
An important pillar of our cooperation is the improvement of vocational orientation and career guidance in the country.
For this purpose, a pilot event of our online offer “Implementation of Career Guidance and Vocational Orientation (ICAVO)” took place in April 2022.
The aim of ICAVO is to,
- empower teachers, social workers, social activists and other influential individuals to bring career guidance and orientation to young people prior to starting their first job, career changers / transitioners, and secondary school students and their surroundings, e.g. their families and sports clubs.
- support stakeholders in developing a career guidance offer for their local context.
On basis of the feedback of the participants who took part in our online pilot training from the Nigerian states of Abuja, Edo, Ogun and Lagos, the “ICAVO” will be further improved and developed for the next sessions.
CoJoP is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ GmbH, which was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Development and Economic Cooperation (BMZ). The project is part of the GIZ project “Promoting Needs-based Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Youth Employment in Nigeria”.
